Anjul, I forgot to answer your question about what text is referred to. In the first statement of the Buddha, he says: "There is a teaching useful during the time when the dark age arises. If one writes of it, propagates it, and practices the "Great Responsiveness Meditation" and recitation, impurities and obscurations will be quickly purified." While the prophecy text goes on to state that one should propagate the prophecy text, the text being referred to in that first statement by the Buddha is the one in which the meditation practice and recitation are documented. The only text that does so is the Surangama Sutra (not to be confused with the Surangama Samadhi Sutra). You can read the sutra as I have made it available on Medium here:
